Split prognosis: Some hospitals think online ER appointments aren’t best solution

St. Anthony was one of the first hospital chains in the nation to implement an online appointment booking system for its emergency room.

St. Anthony has used the online booking system InQuicker since 2010 as a way to improve patient satisfaction and convenience, spokeswoman Sandra Payne said. It allows patients to wait at home, which can keep them out of a busy waiting room filled with people who may be infectious.
